OLDER NEWS

1999/08/23 - Snapshots 990822 available.

1999/08/20 - Snapshots 990820 available (I know, I missed the 990816 one...).

1999/08/16 - Snapshot 990813 now available.

1999/08/09 - GNUstep Dawn 0.6 is quickly approaching; already, the code has entered code freeze stage (as of last week), and the GNUstep guys have released their first Dawn snapshot Sunday. As usual, the RPMs are in the ftp area.

1999/08/06 - The gnustep-core examples are not included with the RPM... So here they are. Just untar them in /usr/local/GNUstep/Apps, and use openapp [name-of-directory] to launch the app, for example:
openapp Edit.app will launch the Edit.app example (from anywhere on the system, you don't have to be in /usr/local/GNUstep/Apps).

1999/08/05 - It worked! So it was a compiler bug in the newer Netwinder builds... The latest snapshots (990804) are available here, in RPM and SRPM formats.
There's also a new screenshot, showing the Edit.app example from gnustep-core.

1999/08/04 - This week I'll get a machine up and running with build #12 to see if things will work out (/me crosses fingers, getting... difficult... to... type...). Anyways, meanwhile, here's a screenshot of my current Window Maker desktop (with, of course, an Amidala theme!), just waiting for GNUstep! You can see a transparent wterm, shaded Netscape, and FSViewer, which is a clone of the NeXT/GNUstep File Viewer, written with WINGs (a widget set that comes with Window Maker).

1999/07/21 - I believe I know why it doesn't compile, and it's the compiler's fault... Gotta wait for NetWinder build #15 (or regress to build #12).

1999/07/07 - Well, I've finally started. GNUstep-0.5.5 (or the snapshots) don't compile yet, but DGS-0.5.7 does!
You can get it here.
